Evelien Cammaert

Home          Archival Branches

Archival Branches is a multidimensional research and artistic practice in which Evelien Cammaert explores the role and meaning of the artist's archive. She develops a working method that connects her artistic research, creation, and presentation. By approaching her own archive as a (metaphorical) landscape, she creates a mental and/or spatial environment in which she submerges herself and her audience, and searches for a way through a field of ever-changing memories.

On this page Archival Branches takes the digital form of a practice for recycling past visual material into the creation of new work.
It is a dynamic platform where forgotten images, text and other objects can come to life and relate to each other and to this digital and public environment.
At times, the page will be almost empty, showing just one photograph. At other the page takes the form of a blog, displaying associative images, ideas and research.
